By bus
Bordeaux has a very reliable and steady network of busses. The system is based on tree main places from where it is possible to take a train to almost every part of the city. The destinations are:
- La Gare Saint-Jean (railway station, bus lines going to town center, university, and north of town, TBC agency)
- La Place de la Victoire (bus lines going to town center, to the railway station, to the University, north and south-west of town
- La Place Gambetta (bus lines going to la Victoire, the railway station, west, north-west, north of town, TBC agency ).
- Quinconces (TBC agency).
It is possible to buy a ticket on board the buses, but this is very expensive and your ticket is only valid on on bus. It is more wise to buy your tickets at the touristoffice, tbc agencies or a buralist. This will give you a ticket valid for more courses and not just for one bus.
By tramway
Since 2000 Bordeaux has a tramway aswell. This tram is the only transport to travel over pedestrian areas. There are no stops for this tram. When you want to get out just signal the driver and he will stop the bus.
