Bordeaux, the French city well known for its harbour once but nowadays known for a lot more than just its harbour. The city lays in the south-west of France, and has over 229,500 inhabitants. Bordeaux also is one of the centres in military, space and nuclear development.

Build on two sides of a river the city is divided in two ‘banks’ all trouhout history the left bank haas always been the most developed of the two.

Bordeaux was foundend by the Biturige Vivisci, a Celtic tribe who named the town Burdigala around 300 BC around 60BC the city was taken by the romans and was ruled by them until about 732. that year troops of Abd er Rahman plundered the city afetr killing the current ruler in that time. Later in time the city got plundered more by vikings.

Bordeaux is also known as ‘the European capital’ of military, space and aeronautics research and construction centres. There is a lot of research and development for a variety of companies. Also Bordeaux is the core of France's strategic nuclear research and physics experiments, hosting the Centre d'Etudes Atomiques and the Megajoule laser project among other high technology wide-scale projects. All these aspects make Bordeaux a very important city for France and Europe.
